Kotor is a small town located on a narrow plateau under Lovcen, in the far north-eastern part of the of the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. It is surrounded by 4 km long walls within which are many attractions, such as the Maritime Museum, the Institute of Marine Biology, Napoleon’s theatre, historical archives, and many more…all under the protection of UNESCO. Narrow city streets and gorgeous squares intertwine them. In Kotor, there are several centuries old churches, and the most impressive ones are the church of St. Luke from the 13th century, St. Anne from the 12th century and the church of Our Lady of Health from the 15th century. The unique beauty of the Bay of Kotor is expressed through stone houses and captains’ palaces that can be seen along the coast of Kotor, as well as through contrast of the sea and steep high mountains.
